Barcelona / Wine Tasting within Barcelona

If you don't have the time (or inclination) to travel beyond Barcelona's city limits to explore Spanish wines then you can enjoy wine tastings in the city center during a number of wine tours or at any of the many restaurants, cellars and wine bars in the city.

Monvinic, Wine Bar, 249 Diputacio

This is on the list of the "best wine bars in the world", here you'll have 3,500 labels to choose from representing 23 countries. The bar's sommeliers open 30 different wines each day which can be bought by the glass or half glass. You can enjoy light snacks at the bar as well. There is also a wine reference library available to patrons.  The wine bar is run by Chef Sergi Ferra-Salat.

Wine Tasting in Central Barcelona

This is a wine tasting tours which last 1.5 hours and costs approximately 30€ per person, there are between 2 to 15 people in each group. The tours are run from Tuesday to Saturday at 6pm (English) and at 8pm (Spanish) in a wine store called Paladar D'Estruc Vinteca off of Placa de Catalunya. You'll get an explanation about Spanish wines and each element including aroma, color, label, food and wine pairing and how to test the wine. In all four wines are tasted and you'll also get a mini-history lesson about the Spanish wine industry. So you'll be gaining a skill as well as enjoying yourself. Tapas and Wine Tour, Taste-Barcelona.com

This is a walking tour which lasts 5 hours and includes between 2 to 6 participants. You'll get a tour of the historic buildings and sites while you go from local bars to restaurants. You'll taste white, rose and red wines as well as Spanish tapas and it will be accompanied by explanations provided by a knowledgeable guide. The advantage of this tour is that you get to discover hidden eateries, mix with the locals and be in a smaller more exclusive group. The tour covers four tapas bars/restaurants and all food and drink is included in the 85€ fee. The tour lasts from 5pm to 10pm. If you'd like a private tour for just you or you and your friends then that can be arranged as well.

Alternatively walk through the streets of Barcelona stopping at the many wine bars to sample the Spanish juice of the Gods without a guide.
